Lanka Hospital Renovation & Interior
With the aim of delivering healthcare that is on par with global medical standards, Lanka Hospitals, known as the most accredited hospital in the Sri Lankan healthcare sector, commissioned the design and relocation of its physiotherapy, cosmetic channeling, eye channeling and endocrinology channeling departments to the top floor of its existing service building. The departments are to be supported by a pharmacy, washrooms and other common facilities whist the the existing chillers currently located on the top floor are to be transposed to a separate structure.
In response to the client’s spatial and functional brief, the tight floor plate was exploited through careful planning to derive maximum functionality in the new design. Deviating from typical austere and clinical, brightly lit hospital conditions, the new interior is articulated in a language of soft curves and arcs to present a soothing and therapeutic environment whist still maintaining the health and safety codes and standards as required of a hospital.
