Kandy Multi-modal Transport Terminal(KMTT)
The design proposal, conceptualized to link the Kandy railway and public bus transport system, aims at creating a functionally robust, modern, multi-modal transport hub and supportive, pedestrian friendly public space to enhance the accessibility, efficiency and safety of public transport users and pedestrians in the heritage city of Kandy. The scheme was positioned to become a modern landmark within the urban fabric of Kandy while being sympathetic towards the city’s cultural identity without imitating its heritage architecture, creating a unique and unified balance between the old and the new.
