Aged Care Development, India
Nestled within the serene expanse of a rubber estate in Kerala, the Aged Care Development harmoniously integrates the natural beauty and tranquility of its surroundings into a holistic design aimed at fostering well-being and comfort for underprivileged elders in Cochin. Embracing the proven therapeutic effects of nature, the project offers a landscape that soothes the mind and invigorates the body. The design prioritizes user-friendly, accessible spaces that focus on safety while promoting a sense of community. By strategically preserving the existing rubber trees and seamlessly blending the built environment within their midst, the development seeks to maintain the estate’s essence. Through a contextual approach, the design carves out intimate, personalized spaces for residents, balancing a sense of homeliness with a harmonious scale. The architecture features clusters of living units, each accommodating eight elderly individuals, fostering a sense of community while allowing for ample outdoor gathering spaces, reflecting an outward-oriented design. This development intends to create a haven where the integration of nature and thoughtful design cater to the residents’ well-being and individuality.
